Colorado Chili


Ingredients
  • one and 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • one can pinto beans
  • one can kidney beans
  • one can chili beans in chili gravy
  • two cans diced tomatoes
  • one large onion chopped
  • two jalapeno peppers remove seeds and chop
  • two Serrano peppers remove seeds and chop
  • jar or package chili powder
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • salt & pepper
  • one cup of water
Directions

place camp stove on medium heat, cook hamburger, onions and peppers in skillet, add salt & pepper stir occasionally till done. Transfer hamburger, onions and peppers to large pot add in cans of beans and diced tomatoes, including all liquid stir until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Add cup of water stir and let cook at medium heat for 20 minutes. Then sprinkle enough chili powder to cover the entire surface with a thin layer then stir it in. Next layer the top with half cup of sugar and stir it in. Let the chili cook another 10 minutes or so then turn stove to very low heat till you are ready to serve.
